Grand Junction, Colo (KKCO) -- Steven Davies was just 26-years-old when he recently lost his battle to germ cell cancer.

After complaining about back pain, he went to the emergency room and was admitted a couple days later when x-rays, MRIs and CT scans revealed the back pain he had been experiencing was due to tumors. The tumors had spread to his liver, brain and lungs.

Within one week of his diagnosis, his body could not fight any longer, and he passed away, leaving his pregnant wife, a three-year-old and five-year-old daughter behind.

Community support is crucial for this family as they have no income and have bills piling up.

The Bike Shop on North Avenue is accepting donations on behalf of the Davies family, and the Coloramo Federal Credit Union has also set up the Steven Davies Memorial Fund.
