BLM closes Desert Land for air show

Grand Junction Air Show land closures

This weekend the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels and other aerial daredevils will take over the skies for the Grand Junction Air Show, but they're also taking over the desert and there are some closures you need to know about.

The Bureau of Land Management is closing public lands around the airport from Sept. 20 to 23 as a safety precaution for the show.

All motorized vehicles, mechanized vehicles and foot travel on BLM lands surrounding the airport will be closed as part of an FAA required perimeter for aircraft acrobatics.

Lands will be close three quarters of a mile parallel to the main airport runway from 27 ¼ Road to 30 road.
