Shots fired at Mesa Inn on Horizon Drive

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Grand Junction Police Department is investigating a shooting at the Mesa Inn on Horizon Drive.

Authorities received a call of shots fired just after 9 p.m. Sunday night.

Police spokesperson Kate Porras says a weapon was discharged in a room at the Mesa Inn. The bullet went through a wall into an adjoining room.

The person in that room received minor injuries, though authorities are uncertain if those injuries came from the bullet. The victim self transported to the hospital, and no ambulance was necessary.

Police are interviewing other witnesses at this time, and the shooting is under investigation.

No other rooms at Mesa Inn were affected or evacuated due to the shooting.
