Montrose and Delta seniors can get in on some fun this morning.

The second annual Montrose-Delta BeaconFest Senior Fair kicks off at 9 a.m. today and runs until 2 p.m. at the Montrose Pavilion. It’s sponsored by the BEACON Senior Newspaper.

With over 60 senior-related local businesses taking part in the event, there's plenty of food, entertainment and information for seniors to check out today.

Organizers are giving away thousands of dollars in door prizes, and Volunteers of America’s Senior Community Meals program will be giving away free lunch to those aged 60 and older.

According to BEACON publisher Kevin Vangundy, over 1,200 seniors attended last year's event. They hope to make this year's even bigger and better.
