GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Valentine's Day is right around the corner, but some who don't have a significant other to share it with may refer to it as Single's Awareness Day.

If you're recently single being alone on a day that's all about love can stir up feelings of depression.

Rather than focusing on the seemingly happy couples around you experts suggest surrounding yourself with friends and family.

"It's best to not be alone even though every fiber of your body wants to not engage with others," Shelley Millsap, Counselor.

Giving back to the community by volunteering around town is a good way to get out of the house as it gives people a sense of self worth.
