Grand Junction Today Palisade pet owners had a great opportunity. One gallery gave them the chance to get a picture of their furry friends and help out a good cause.
The Blue Pig Gallery in downtown Palisade hosted an event called, "Paint Your Pooch at the Pig."
They invited pet owners to bring their dogs in to get a portrait drawn or painted by a professional artist.
Owners paid about $40 and a portion of the proceeds made will also help pets without families.
"We donate a portion to the Roice Hurst Humane Society,” Assistant Gallery Director Sarah Winder said. “For both Kay Crane, the director downstairs, and I… dogs are everything."
This is not the first “Paint Your Pooch at the Pig” event. Last year they saw about 50 dogs.
There were plenty of dogs hanging out in the gallery and owners were able to sit with their pet during the portrait.
