GRAND JUNCTION, Colo (KKCO) Todd Simpson, owner of Property Services in Grand Junction, provided a thanksgiving meal for residents at Saint Martin's place Wednesday. The apartment complex is run by the Grand Valley Catholic Outreach, and houses homeless veterans. The feast included turkey, ham, yams, and all the fixings. Veterans say it was a generous gift to those who sacrificed for our freedom.
"There's a lot of Veterans here in the Grand Junction area; people come back and visit during the thanksgiving holidays; welcome them all back; give them a big hug; because this is the only country like it in the world, and these guys are keeping us there," said Ron Waterman, an Air Force Veteran and St. Martin's resident.
Saint Martin's place provides Veterans with opportunities for independence, self-direction, and community involvement.
