MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO) If you noticed a few extra state troopers cruising around on Friday and Saturday, it was all a part of a special operation manned by the Colorado State Patrol and Mesa County.

The large scale law enforcement operation was successful. Troopers contacted 336 motorists for 393 violations of traffic and criminal laws. They located two stolen vehicles and arrested the drivers. One-hundred and six drivers were cited, including a reckless driver traveling at speeds over 110 miles per hour, forcing other vehicles off the roadway.

One trooper made a big drug bust, over 92 lbs. of high grade marijuana concealed in a vehicle and packaged for distribution.

This was a multi-jurisdictional operation between the Mesa County Sheriff's Office and Grand Junction and Fruita police departments.
