CLIFTON, Colo. They won't be serving up 'country with a kick' anymore.
Details about the closure of a popular Clifton bar begin to surface.
Mesa County Central Services has confirmed that earlier this week, Cactus Canyon withdrew from their liquor license renewal process.
On a July 8th, an agent from Cactus Canyon's corporate offices stated they would not be moving forward with the application.
This was the same day that workers were seen packing up and tearing down the venue.
When they saw moving trucks at the bar on Tuesday afternoon, many former patrons admitted they're glad to see the place go.
“Every time that i come here there's always tons of fights and there's always over serving is a big thing,” says Jerice Gutierrez.
Community complaints about the country western bar ranged from underage drinking to excessive fighting on the property.
According to county officials, it's rare to see establishments drop out of the renewal process especially once it is so well underway as was the case with Cactus Canyon.
Cactus Canyon officials have not released any formal statements regarding the bar's apparent closure.
