The nation's capitol receives a special delivery from Colorado for the holidays.
After a 5,000 mile journey, the US Capitol Christmas tree-- also known as the people's tree-- is set to arrive on the grounds of the capitol in Washington, D.C., today. It'll be there around 10 a.m. EST.
This year's tree is a 73-foot Engelmann spruce harvested from White River National Forest in Meeker.
It made a stop in Grand Junction earlier this month just after being chopped down.
The annual tree lighting ceremony of the people's tree will take place on Dec. 4.
