Car show raises money for a good cause

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo (KKCO) Many resident car enthusiasts had the opportunity to show off their retro rides Saturday afternoon. It was all part of the 11th Annual Fuoco Motor Downtown Car Show. The show benefits Hospice and Palliatative Care. Each entry cost 30 dollars, but the show was free to the public.

And while the car owners will tell you it's a great time, they're also out there to make a difference. "Yes we do a lot of charity events for habitat; for the teenage home, runaways; we just did one here a couple weeks ago in Clifton for kids that had no shoes," said Ken Bobbitt, a car show participant.

Many of those who entered say they enjoy getting to show off their cars, especially when it is benefiting a good cause. Six awards were handed out, including people's choice, mayor's choice, and most likely to get a speeding ticket from the Grand Junction Police Department.

Participants had the chance to win prizes, including plaques and customized jackets.
