GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) You didn't have to travel down the yellow brick road to get to the Emerald City on the 75th anniversary of the Wizard of Oz; you just had to head over to the Mesa Mall children's play area. The area was decorated to look like the Emerald City in the classic movie.

The celebration for the classic movie had kids watching in awe as the timeless classic was played. They also got to make different art and crafts projects that were related to the movie.

The movie, starring Judy Garland, was nominated for 6 academy awards, but lost in the 'best picture' category to Gone with the Wind.
