Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) –The Central High School bowling team, spared no feelings at this year's state tournament. For the first time a team from the valley took second in state.

Central sent three of four teams to the tournament and the silver team came within 19 pins of winning Centrals’ first bowling state title. The members of the team say it was a great experience,
"it was so un-real for like the first, couple of hours. Then I think it hit us. We took second in State out of like 28 teams that just went there," says Stephen Wilson, a senior on the team.

" I think the coolest thing about the experience was working as a team because we all started falling apart and then we got our heads into the game and stuck second place," says senior and team captain Heather Jones.

The teams also swept the competition here in the valley, with 3 teams taking, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the conference championship.
