GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Drivers get ready....it's time to “Click It or Ticket!”
The Colorado Department of Transportation and law enforcement agencies across the state are teaming up to make sure you're buckling up before hitting the road.
Monday marked the launch of a new “Click It or Ticket” campaign that runs through July 27th.
This year, Colorado law enforcement agencies are paying special attention to seat belt usage during nighttime hours.
Statistics from C-DOT show a significant decrease in seat belt use once the sun goes down and the campaign aims to eliminate this risky behavior from the roads.
Buckling up not only saves lives but save drivers money each year by reducing costs associated with motor vehicle accidents.
It’s saved a total $1.6 trillion dollars in economic cost since 1975.
