Grand Junction, Colo. – The community is invited to join student organizations at Colorado Mesa University in their recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day tomorrow.

Events scheduled include a free luncheon at which the CMU Cultural Diversity Board will name its first recipient of the Dream Award to be given to a black middle or high school student from the Western Slope. The luncheon will be from noon to 1 p.m. in the University Ballroom.

Nomination forms were distributed to middle and high schools throughout the 14-county region served by CMU.

There will also be a screening of a 1967 interview of Martin Luther King Jr. and speakers who will talk about what Martin Luther King Jr. meant to them.
