Who doesn't love enjoying some live Christmas music? Country music star Phil Vassar played a special gig at Grand Junction High School Sunday night in the spirit of the holidays.

The singer-songwriter has been on tour for weeks now and was excited to play in Grand Junction this weekend. Vassar says intimate concerts are his favorite because everyone can focus on the music and lyrics and he feels its easier to connect with the audience.

“We've worked our way out here and this is as far west as we go. [I’m] flying home tomorrow to Nashville to play the Monday Night Football Game against the [New York] Jets,” he said.

Vassar said he would play requests on Sunday night so he could feed off the energy of the crowd. He says this is one of his last stops before heading back east for the holidays.
