County offices to close for Thanksgiving

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – The Mesa County administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday Nov. 23. for Thanksgiving.

This two-day closure includes the Health Department and Department of Human Services at 510 29 ½ road, the Planning and Public Works Departments at 200 S. Spruce St., the Regional Transportation Planning Office at 525 S. Sixth St., and all the offices at the Old Courthouse at 544 Rood Ave. This applies to all Clerk and Recorder offices as well.

Non-emergency functions of the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office will also be closed both days. Mesa County Animal Services shelter will be closed as well, but officers will be available to handle any public safety issues.

This closure does not include the Coroner’s Office, Criminal Justice Services, or emergency functions at the Sheriff’s Office.

The rest of the offices will re-open to the public on Monday, Nov. 26.
