Crews continue to monitor Collbran mudslide

COLLBRAN, Colo. Official oversight of the West Salt Creek mudslide is now in command by Mesa County Public Works.

The landslide area remains unstable while snow melt continues. The end of the runoff season this year is expected to be in July. Field work will continue through June 20th.

Experts are marking monitoring locations around the slide and pond areas, but the last monitoring device was placed on June 9th.

Topographic data of the mudslide taken with Lidar equipment is expected to be processed by June 24th.
