GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) Crime Stoppers of Mesa County works with the community to keep families in the area safe. Residents can anonymously send tips in order to solve and prevent crimes.

On average, Crime Stoppers solves one case every week, which has led to their success of arresting 1,646 criminals in Mesa County since their start in 1983.

Crime Stoppers only fundraiser of the year is an annual golf tournament. This year, the organization is struggling to find sponsors, players and donations. Without the money gained from the tournament, Crime Stoppers will have a hard time paying anonymous tipsters for their help, which will lead to more unsolved crimes in the area.
