GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – With a record number of people lining Main Street, businesses, organizations and youth groups alike competed for the honor of having the best float in town Saturday night during the Parade of Lights.

The 29th annual parade featured a float contest with four categories. Below is a list of the winners:

Youth Category
1st Place: Cub Scout Pack #353
2nd Place: Cub Scout Pack #342
3rd Place: Chipeta Elementary School

Performance Category
1st Place: Dance Works
2nd Place: Absolute Dance
3rd Place: Central High School Theater

Business Category
1st Place: Ute Water and JR’s Carriage Service
2nd Place: Spring Works
3rd Place: Sorter Construction

Organization Category
1st Place: Rockwater & Future Farmers of America
2nd Place: Western Slope ATV Association
3rd Place: Western Slope Snowmobile Association

First place wins $100, second gets $75, and third place takes home $50.
