GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- Shear a bit off your holiday budget to give to a good cause.

Revolution Salon in downtown Grand Junction is holding a Cut-a-Thon Sunday, Dec. 2 to raise money for Matix Smith, a two year old who has been diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

Stylists will be giving men and kids haircuts throughout the day, as well as blowouts for women. They only ask for donations to go to the Smith family.

This is the first time the salon has tried to help a young boy; typically, their efforts go toward women.

Matix has been getting chemo treatments from Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, so his family has had to incur transportation costs as well as the price of treatment.
