CLIFTON, Colo. (KKCO) A woman found a dead body when she was out walking her dog Saturday morning on Autumn Breeze Drive in Clifton, what residents say is usually a quiet, family-friendly neighborhood.

"We've never had anything like this happen around here," said Travis Cole, who lives three doors down from where the body was found. "There have been incidents, but nothing this extreme."

Neighbors watched and listened for information as the Mesa County Sheriffs Office investigated the scene.

"They said it wasn't really much to worry about right now,"Cole said. "They didn't think it was a homicide. Possibly an overdose. Don't know for sure. That's all I've heard."

The Mesa County Sheriffs Office is still looking into the cause of death. They have not yet released the name of the deceased woman or whether or not she was a resident of the neighborhood. They did say she was in her thirties.

The residents who live on the property where the body was found did not wish to comment on the incident.

"I know the elderly couple that live up there and they're nice people," said David Carouthers, who lives across the street from where the body was located. "It's kind of crazy that something like that happens in your neighborhood."
