Deadline for voter registration Oct. 9

Decision 2012 is just 49 days away, and there are some important dates you need to be aware of.

Monday, Oct. 9 is the last day to register to vote, and Oct. 30 is the last day to apply for a mail-in ballot.

The election will be held Tuesday, Nov. 6. The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

To be eligible to vote, you can't be serving a sentence or be on parole for a felony, and you must be at least 18 years of age by Election Day and a U.S. citizen.

If you choose to register online, keep an eye on your mailbox. The clerk will send you an information card about 20 days after you've registered.
