RIFLE, Colo. (KKCO) In just over a week, Rifle residents will vote on whether or not to build a new recreation and community center in town.

While certain community members are speaking out in support of the potential new center, several others oppose the additional taxes it would require for funding.

"We're not against a rec center we just feel... it's the wrong time," says No More Taxes Rifle member, Becky Mall. "We need to go back to the drawing board and do it correctly."

Opponents of the center are calling for more corporate sponsors and grants to help fund the project.

If approved, the new center will be built on the current site of Metro Park.
