Decide to Drive month in Grand Junction

Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) - Everyone's life is at stake when a distracted driver is on the road.On Wednesday City Council proclaimed November "Decide to Drive" month in the city of Grand Junction. At the council meeting high school students along with various members of the community accepted the proclamation from council.

The students shared different stories of how their lives have been affected by a distracted driver. Throughout the month students will be talking to different service groups with the goal of keeping both drivers and pedestrians safe from distracted drivers, and increasing driver's awareness of how easy it is to be distracted when driving. They will also be making presentations to School District 51 schools challenging students and staff not be a distracted driver.
