GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) Water-loving dogs took advantage of the Lincoln Park Pool Saturday to get in some end-of-summer swimming.
"It's absolutely crazy," said Danielle Spelts, who was at the event with her dog Calvin. "Everybody out here has so much fun. The dogs enjoy it. I wish they could do it even more just because the dogs go crazy."
The pool hosted its 9th annual Dog Days event. No people were allowed in the pool, so the dogs had it to themselves to swim after toys, jump off the diving board and socialize with other playful canines.
Part of the event's proceeds will benefit the Roice-Hurst Humane Society.
"I adopted Calvin from Roice-Hurst," Spelts said. "So this is his first year out here and he’s so excited."
Event organizers said they are happy to be able to open a local pool once a year to the Grand Valley's swimming pups.
