(Thursday 8/22)

Nearly one year after Dutch the dog bit a woman, his owner Jeremy Aguilar is finally seeing his day in court.

On November 14, 2012, Rachel Daake was watching Dutch when she claimed he started fighting with another dog in her backyard. She said after pulling them away from each other, he attacked her, biting her thigh hand and buttocks.

A jury of three women were chosen today to hear the prosecution and defense's arguments to decide whether Dutch would be put down for attacking Daake.

In opening statements, the prosecution detailed the events of that November day. The defense however, said they would prove Daake has a history of beating dogs.

The trial was expected to wrap up today, but is now going through tomorrow.

Aguilar's wife, Heather, said she can not wait for this ordeal to be over with.
