Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) – Eggs and cake batter make for an interesting combination especially when it's on your head. Just ask the KKCO morning team, who had the combination dumped on them for charity Thursday afternoon.

The event is called Eggstravaganza , where volunteers are egged to raise money for March of Dimes. This is the 6 year March of Dimes and American National Bank have held the event, to raise awareness.

"Awareness is number one you have to be aware of that one of ten children in Colorado are born to soon many of them live at the neonatal intensive care units around Colorado for months or years in some cases," says Terri Jones, division director with March of Dimes.

It only cost $5 to break eggs over the volunteers. The final numbers are not in yet, but so far $2500 was raised by the event.
