GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Now for an update on a story exclusive to 11 News. Ninety-seven-year-old Vena Metcalfe was told by her home owner's association that she had to find her way down three flights of stairs to let in her oxygen tank delivery. In the past, the tank had been brought up to her third floor condo at the Horizon Towers.
However, after our story and several letters from her lawyer, Vena says administrators at Horizon Towers have changed their minds.
"Well, they have finally, after much conversation, and much rebuttal back and forth with the lawyer...allowed me to receive my oxygen," says Vena.
Vena suffers breathing problems from working on military planes during World War II. She says she inhaled paint as an aero-mechanic during the war.
Vena thanks the many outraged viewers who emailed 11 News, and commented about her story on the 11 News web channel and Facebook pages.
