Empty Bowls Helping to Feed People in Need

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The community’s signature event, Empty Bowls, is celebrating its 17th year of helping feed individuals and families who are hungry. Guests are invited to a simple meal of soup, bread, and dessert. In exchange for a cash donation of $25, guests are asked to keep a bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world.

The Grand Valley Catholic Outreach is having the event at the Soup Kitchen located on 1st Street on Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. To get tickets, go to any City Market store and tickets will be $25.

Empty Bowls has increasingly gained generous community support to feed the hungry. The event terms to be successful because of its generosity of so many who wish to help food those who are hungry in our community.

Grand Valley Catholic Outreach provides solutions to individuals on the edge of homelessness or who are homeless. Catholic Outreach is striving to proclaim the dignity and worth of each person and respond to human needs with the compassion of Christ.
