GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- Ex-firefighter and ex-police officer Eric Janusz faced his fate Wednesday morning.
In a Mesa County courtroom, a judge sentenced Janusz to eight years to life in prison. That means he's eligible for parole after eight years.
On March 22, a jury found Janusz guilty of one county of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust.
The conviction stems from incidents involving a 16-year-old girl who Janusz knew while he was working as a Grand Junction Police officer on the then-Mesa State College campus.
