FRUITA, Colo. (KKCO) - The second annual Stampede 5K proved to be a success as part of the Fruita Fall Fest.
Today, around 120 runners and walkers hit the pavement for the race with people of all different ages coming out to support a local school.
Fruita Middle School teacher Scott Vanlandingham organized the race to help provide his students with more funds for supplies, and he estimates the race will bring in more than $1,000.00.
Vanlandingham is a product of District 51 schools and says it was important for him to give back to the community
