Fostering new commercial fruit growers

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – Western Colorado is known for their fertile ground and its variety of fruits.

On Monday, Jan. 14, Colorado State University Extension and the Western Colorado Research Center will be offering a one-day class for commercial fruit tree growers. The event will go from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

Fruit experts will go over topics like the principles of fruit thinning, nutrition and fertilization. Those who have been growing fruit trees for less than five years will benefit the most from this session.

To be a part of the workshop, you must pay $50, which will include a box lunch. It will take place at the Western Colorado Research Center located at Orchard Mesa at 3168 B ½ in Grand Junction.
