Negative chatter seems to surround the Fracking industry, a documentary aired Thursday night at the Avalon Theater with information that the director hopes will clear up the muddy water.

Director Ann McElhinney used to count herself as a supporter of the Green Peace movement, until she said she realized some of the information the group was circulating as fact, wasn't true, and was actually harmful.

McElhinney's film is called FrackNation and focuses on the myths she said environmentalists create about the Fracking industry. She said it is her mission to help people realize that embracing the industry will benefit the U.S. economy.

"If energy prices go up because we are using renewable energy that is extremely expensive and unreliable, it is a disaster for poor people," McElhinney.
