Palisade, Colo (KKCO) --- Low temperatures in April caused crops around Mesa County to freeze and many local farmers now have to deal with the aftermath of the unusually cold weather.

Donovan Talbott, owner of C&R Farms, said all of his cherry and apricot crops were destroyed by the freeze and it is the worst loss he has experienced in 11 years.

DeVries Farms owner, Bill DeVries, said he usually plants seeds every year in mid-April, but had to skip that this year since he knew they would be affected by the weather and become worthless.

These farmers said they expect their sales to suffer as a result.
