Fruita Parks and Recreation looking for your input

Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) – Fruita Parks and Recreation is looking to the community for input on how to improve Civic Center Memorial Park. The city council has given the parks and recreation $50,000. for the park's improvement.

On Thursday night the park and recreation office held an open house at the Fruita Community Center allowing community members the opportunity to give feedback on improvements they would like to see. "We don't know how we're going to spend it, it could be a phase one, it could be a minor change this year, and it could be up-grading infrastructure this year. There might not be some visible changes, but there may be some visible changes. This process is to kind of flush out all those thoughts and ideas and how we can start implementing it,” says Ture Nycum, director of Fruita Park and Recreation.

Parks and recreation officials say they plan to keep city council informed on how the project is coming. If you missed Thursday night’s meeting you can always call the parks and recreation office to give your opinion.
