GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) An annual garden tour is highlighting the natural beauty of the Grand Valley.

"It showcases all the beautiful gardens in the area," said Margie Frey, of Western Colorado Botanical Gardens. "Some are very historical. Some have been here for many, many years."

Western Colorado Botanical Gardens is hosting the 22nd annual event.

The self-guided tour begins at the Botanical Gardens then proceeds to seven gardens around the area.

"Each garden is so unique," Frey said. "Some gardens are focused more on native Colorado plants and some are a little wilder."

Frey said the tour gives gardeners a chance to show off their pride and joy.

"They love telling about their garden, how it was created, the work put into it, the different plants," she said. "So they’re very proud of their gardens."

The tour continues Sunday, August 25, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets are $10 and benefit Western Colorado Botanical Gardens.
