Golfing for high school scholars

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Oil and gas industry leaders come together for a day of gold to benefit Grand Valley teen scholars.

The Western Slope Colorado Oil and Gas Association hosted its 34th annual golf tournament to help fund their year-round activities and their scholarships for high school teens.

Over 700 professionals teed off for education in the hopes of getting the youth excited about math, science, and engineering.

“It's all about you know being a help to teach kids and the understanding of what it means to produce some of our natural resources,” says Mike Anton of MTECH Inc.

The tournament took place on three courses that includes Adobe Creek, Tiara Rado, and Redlands Mesa golf courses.

Over the past three decades, this tournament has raised more than a million dollars for high school students of the Western Slope.
