GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Over the past several days, several viewers have called and e-mailed in with reports that the Grand Junction Regional Center is closing.
After numerous conversations with the Colorado Department of Human Services, we were assured that these reports are not true.
The Department of Human Services declined an on camera interview but told us the reports were unequivocally false, and the Grand Junction Regional Center is not closing.
We were told that Dr. Richard Ratliff, Director of the Division for Regional Center Operations, was meeting with the center's staff Wednesday afternoon.
We were told over the phone Dr. Ratliff was going to tell staff the rumors were false, however our reporters weren't allowed into the meeting.
We will continue to bring you updates should more information become available.
