Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) – The Grand Junction Film Festival is getting ready to roll out the red carpet next week at the Avalon Theatre.

The festival will run from Feb. 15 to Feb. 16, showing 35 different films. The movies range from comedy to horror films, and even some student-made projects will be featured.

The submissions come from all over the United States, but a few local filmmakers made the cut.

"We're going to have quite a few of the filmmakers, directors and producers in attendance that made the films, but we're not going to see the Nicholas Cages, or the Steven Spielbergs. It's going to be people that are just getting started. Five years from now they could be the next Robert Redford or whatever, but for right now this is a chance for people to meet them at the ground level," says festival founder Ross Deardorff.

Deardorff says during the day, you will find more family friendly films, and then at night, you can find the more risqué films. You can buy you tickets in advance at your local City Market. A one-day pass costs $20, and a two-day pass will cost you $35 . Doors open at 6:00pm on Fri Feb. 15th and at 4:00pm on Sat Feb. 16th.
