Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) – On Saturday, you'll have a chance to blast back to the past with Heritage Day at Cross Orchards Historic Site.
It's a chance for families to come out and enjoy the rich and colorful history of the local area.
The event will have many demonstrations, including rope making, blacksmithing , gold panning, and you'll even be able to churn butter the old fashion way.
The experience gives families a chance to experanice what life was like 100 years ago.
"Whatever we need we go to a store and people need to realize that, that hasn't always been the case. That you made do with the stuff you had at home. You would raise your own vegetables you milked you cows so you could make butter. It’s really important that we remember how things use to be,” says Kay Fiegel, assistant director at Cross Orchards Historic Site.
Heritage Day, is open to the public the event at Cross Orchards Historic site, on Patterson starts at 9am and runs until 3pm.
Adults cost $5
Kids cost $3.50
