Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) – It's Christmas Eve, and some seniors in the Grand Valley are forced to spend their evening at home. If it weren't for Comfort Keepers, they may be hungry and alone as well.

Taking a hot dinner with companionship to seniors who are homebound has become tradition for Comfort Keepers. It's the third year members of the group have tried to brighten the holidays for seniors. This year they delivered around 200 meals in Mesa County.

Betsey Brown is one of those seniors getting a meal on Monday.

"[A volunteer[ made sure made sure that I have Christmas Eve and Christmas dinner -- a turkey dinner and a ham dinner -- because I wouldn't cook a turkey just for me or a ham just for me," said Brown.

This year, deliveries were made to seniors in towns as far away as Collbran. The meals included turkey or ham with a side of green beans, mashed potatoes and a piece of pie.
