Kickoff for Central Library fundraising project

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – The Mesa County Public Library Foundation moves one step closer to funding the remodel of the Central Library.

On Tuesday, the foundation will hold a kickoff event at 10 a.m. to launch a public fundraising effort. The fundraiser will be in the main lobby of the Alpine Bank building in downtown Grand Junction, and the public is invited to attend.

The foundation has committed to raise $1.25 million for the Central Library Project, and they say public fundraising campaign is a crucial part of that effort.

The Central Library Project will add 9,000 square feet to the building at Fifth Street and Grand Avenue and will refresh the entire library. The project is expected to cost $6.7 million.
