Local Republicans prepare for V.P. Nominee Paul Ryan

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Mesa County Republicans were hard at work this afternoon in preparation for the arrival of Vice Presidential Nominee Paul Ryan.

The Mesa Republicans joined up with the Republican National Committee today at the Maverick Pavilion parking lot. Around a dozen people gathered to make signs to support the Romney-Ryan ticket.

One woman from the party says tomorrow is a moment of celebration and a moment of actually seeing him in person. she says there are a few points she hopes he addresses tomorrow.

"Libya, women's rights, and how they are above the waist and several other things," said Republican Linda Gregory. "The economy is a mess, and he seems to have a good financial head on his shoulders."

Ellie Wallace of the Republican National Committee said they are very excited to have Paul Ryan out here on the Western Slope.

She said he will be reminding people of what the Romney-Ryan ticket will mean for Coloradans and how he will look to lower taxes.
