GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – Ever wonder what happens behind the scenes when someone calls 911? This is your chance to find out. The Grand Junction Police Department, the Grand Junction Fire Department and the 911 Regional Communications Center is having 12-week sessions on how they perform their duties.

Citizens Public Safety Academy classes will take place on Thursday nights from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be exceptions of one Saturday class on May 18 and one Tuesday evening class on April 30. The deadline for registering is Feb. 28.
