GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- Organizations across the country are shedding light on darkness, as Sunday kicks off Mental Illness Awareness Week.
The Western Slope chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness is holding a conference this Thursday about mental health.
It will be held at New Horizons Foursquare Church in Grand Junction. The event is free and runs from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., and lunch is included.

Speakers from various local organizations will educate and inform on issues related to mental health.
