Look out for leaves changing at Powderhorn's Fall Fest

Need a place to watch our green leaves transition to orange, yellow and red? With a grand view of the Grand Mesa, Powderhorn Mountain Resort offers residents the chance to check out the fall colors during its Fall Fest this weekend.

The autumn-themed event includes lift rides, food, live music and activities.

From Sept. 22 to 23, families can take photos at picturesque spots in the leaves and trees, play free disc golf at the resort’s 18-hole course, and camp for free in the lower lot.

Over the weekend, lift rides will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Then, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., live music will be on the sunset deck, featuring Desert Moon on Sept. 22 and the Pineapple Crackers on Sept. 23.

I love this and every year I look forward to the ski lift ride and a romantic picnic with my husband. We take wine and cheese and spend a romantic brisk afternoon looking at all the colors colorado has to offer. Last time it was a glass of Mascato, prosciutto, Mascarpone cheese and wonderful thin garlic baked cracers and grapes. Yum nothing better than nature
