MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO) - A Pear Park woman is in custody, accused of hosting wild parties with alcohol and marijuana for children and teenagers.
According to an arrest affidavit, Christina Gordon encouraged kids, ranging in age from 10 to 18, to smoke marijuana at her home at 3033 1/2 Chocktaw Place. The affidavit says that she told at least one of the kids not to tell their parents.
Sgt. Matt Lewis with the Mesa County Sheriff's Office says deputies were contacted by the parents of one of the alleged victims. He says, "We got information from a juvenile telling a parent, and that parent passed on to us that a child had been going to their house and smoking marijuana."
Neighbors say they aren't surprised Gordon has been arrested, and have been complaining about late-night, loud parties in the otherwise quiet neighborhood.
Ellen Wade, President of the HOA at Cherokee Village says, "Parties going to 2:00 and 3:00 and the morning. There has been public unination, trash all over the place ." She says following the parties, there would be empty liquor bottles in strewn about the yard. Neighbors say they noticed that minors would be entering and leaving the home.
Pear Park Elementary is just yards from Gordon's backyard. Investigators say it is possible that some of the victims are students at the school.
Gordon will be charged with Contributing to the Deliquincy of a Minor, Child Abuse, Marijuana Possession, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
