Main Street "Spooktacular" draws out community

Other local residents are getting a jump start on Halloween festivities and candy collections, heading to Main Street for the annual downtown “Spooktacular.”

The event began at 3:30 and lasted until 5 p.m., closing off Main Street between 3rd and 7th Streets. Many local shop owners along the main drag stayed open and handed out sweet treats to the little ones. Those who dressed up were eligible to win a costume contest.

There were also live performances by dancers from the absolute dance studio. Other Halloween themed activities for the youngsters included cookie decorating, pumpkin decorating and a costume parade all followed by more live entertainment. The event was free to all kids 12 years and under.
