Man accused of threat on Obama held without bail

DENVER (AP) -- A judge has denied bail for a Colorado man accused of telling his therapist he wanted to kill President Barack Obama and shoot schoolchildren.

The judge also ruled Monday that the evidence against 20-year-old Mitchell Kenneth Kusick of Westminster is sufficient to send his case to federal district court for trial.

Court records say Kusick made the comments to the therapist Oct. 29. The therapist called police and told his family to take him to a hospital, where he was placed on a mental health hold.

An arrest affidavit says Kusick obtained a rifle and tried to buy ammunition at a Wal-Mart but the store refused to sell it to him. An aunt had learned that Kusick had the rifle and made him give it back.
